George Foster
« on: Wednesday 05 December 07 17:30 GMT (UK) »
I'm searching for ongoing information about George Foster who was christened 12 Jan 1791 Sheriff Hutton, Yorkshire.  Should anyone have any information about his life I would appreciate hearing about the details.

My Great Grandfather was a George Foster who was transported to Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australia as a convict aboard the "Eliza 2" in 1822. I would very much like to know who his parents were and where he was born.

Hi There......

Not sure if this is any help to you........

But according to the baptism of your George Foster 1791, his father was also called George...........

Baptised in the same church, in 1761, was another George Foster !

1841 census

Sheriff Hutton Township

George Foster / age 80 / farmer
John Foster / age 50
Sarah Foster / age 50

1841 census do's not give relationships, but I suspect John is a son.

As I said, not sure if it is of any help.

Kind Regards

JeannieR
