Christiana Rollitt

My great-great-great-grandmother Christiana Rollitt was born in Elkesley in 1802. She died in Elkesley aged 21 in 1823 (although there is also a burial record on 26th June 1824). In 1822 she had a son James Gregg Rollitt through an illegitimate relationship with a farmer called Edward Gregg. I would like to find out more information about Edward Gregg, but have been unsuccessful so far. Can anyone please help?

The only Edward Gregg I can find born at that time is:

Nottm St Mary to Wiliam and Elizabeth 23 6 1803

This is miles away from Elkesley but people did go miles to be baptised so who knows? Maybe you should get someone to look at the Elkesley registers.

I think the Edward Gregg Jane found is in 1841 Notts. aged 35/Attorney.

Thanks, but I've thoroughly discounted him in the past. Edward Gregg was a farmer - that's all I know about him.
