« on: Saturday 15 December 07 14:07 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I wonder if anyone could give me any advice on pursuing a relative of mine as I'm stuck!
I have a (*)
From memory I'm quite certain I've checked marriages and deaths and nothing seems to match particularly - also telephone directory's around the 1970's but after 1973 I'm struggling to trace him.  I'm fairly certain he'll still be alive.
I know he was at (*) in Urmston which is near Manchester in 1973 when he was aged 27 but other than that I have no other info
Has anybody any ideas of other routes to pursue?
Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil,

You won't get much joy as the moderators have a policy for blocking live, too recent date enquiries. I had a very polite pm from a moderator explaining this policy to me when I made an enquiry

Hi Phil,

Have you tried the electoral roll?  It's available at www.192.com but unfortunately pay per view - I think you can search for free but have to pay for the detail.  It might help you locate him if you expect him to be in a certian area - and you could ask for anyone with a subscription to do a look up for you if you find a likely candidate - but don't name, just ask for the lookup and responses by PM.  The rule on living people is to protect privacy.

Hi,

One more suggestion would be to look up the surname on www.thephonebook.bt.com .  Click on residential name and then type in surname and Location Urmston.

Regards,
Mo
