Looking for any help or information on my great grandparents John & Mary JONES.
According to my grandfather's (Joshua Penri JONES) birth certificate, John JONES was a Master Tailor in 1923.
Their address at the time of Joshua's birth was Mill Street, Cwmfelin, Llangynwyd, Maesteg.
Mary's maiden name was also JONES!
I have no idea on the birth dates or ages of John & Mary - other than making basic assumptions based on Joshua's birth date (1 Mar 1923).
I have been wondering if there is a trade directory or similar available for the area that may indicate if the premises in Mill St was a tailor's shop - perhaps he came from a line of tailors ?
I never knew my grandfather, and there is no living relative able to help.
This line is my BRICK WALL, and I would be grateful for any pointers on how to continue...
