« on: Tuesday 01 January 08 22:31 GMT (UK) »

Just wondering whether anyone has access to Pickering baps? Im looking for any children born to JOHN NESS and ANN SPAVIN who married in Pickering in 1757. IGI has the marriage but no baps that I can see!!

Thanks for any help!

Are you sure they are in Pickering after marriage? as there are quite a few Ness' in Pickering in the right year range so if yours were in pickering you think they'd show up.

There are quite a few Ness' in weaverthorpe parish (slightly south of Pickering parish)

Batch No. C108832

Father is named as John on all (if you put john into batch search) but mother as Ann on a couple so not necessarily all the same family.

There is also a Mary Ness 1779 in neighbouring parish Foxholes parents John and Ann Ness.

The problem is, if they're not in Pickering is that when you start looking is that John Ness seems to be a serial single father from one end of Yorkshire to the other!  As on many that's the only parents name  :-\

Thanks for that! Shall go check it out!

Ive no idea if they were in Pickering or not after marriage. John being a common name and no wife on some baps is going to be a problem!!

Thanks
