Just to add to the confusion: the marriage certificate of my gt x 4 uncle, Thomas William Jones to Elizabeth Sarah Voy, in 1839, shows the witnesses as John Thomas Jones and Harriet Voy.

I do not yet know how JTJ is related to the (presumably) groom, though I DO know that virtually all the Jones men were mariners of one kind or another, be it pilots, merchant seamen, Royal Navy etc. etc. and all from Deal and Dover in Kent.

Thomas William Jones (who incidentally in his will left a quarter of his estate to his housekeeper, Martha Decent, mentioned in a previous post) had an uncle by the name of John Jones, though I do not know of a middle name. Could this be the JTJ you seek; if so I can provide names of parents, siblings and family lines.

Regards,

PJ
