I have a Frank Postlethwaite who fought in the Boer War.  Where can I find which Regiment he was in?

Hi

Welcome to the Forum. You should read my recent post  - http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,276704.0.html - regarding looking up service papers in Kew.

Series WO12 will be of no use, nor the pre-WW1 medal rolls which are on microfilm in series WO100, as you need to know the regiment for both.

If all else fails I would try and find an obituary.

Ken

I wonder if this is him listed in the 22nd Imperial Yeomanry on Kevin Asplin's excellent website :

Postlethwaite, Frank    33980, Trooper    85th Coy., 22nd Bn. I.Y.
