I am seeking any descendant or researcher of the family of Elias MAYO and Ann ROPER.
Elias MAYO was baptized in Frome St. Quintin in 1809. By the 1830s, Elias was a dairyman, living in Friar Waddon. On January 19th., 1837, in Upwey, Elias Mayo of Portesham married Ann Roper, of that parish, in the presence of John Roper. At the 1841 census for the Friar Waddon dairy house in Portesham, Elias 31 was dairyman. By 1851, Elias 41, dairyman, was enumerated in Upwey. By the 1861 census in Upwey, Elias 51 was an innkeeper of the Freemason's Arms; at the 1871 and 1881 censuses in Upwey, Elias 61 was innkeeper in the Freemason’s Arms. Elias 64 was buried in Upwey, Dorset, on November 7th., 1873; at the 1881 census, Ann 65, widow, was head in the Freemason’s Arms, Upwey; Ann 75 was innkeeper in the Mason’s Arms in Upwey, for the 1891 census, living with daughter, Mary; Ann 83 was buried in Upwey on December 29th., 1898. Elias and Ann had nine children, all born in the Portesham / Upwey area.
