Deported Larkman
« on: Sunday 06 January 08 12:24 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help?

One of my ancestors Edward Larkman b1714, was deported in March 1753. His ship was bound for America and he was bound for his Majesty's plantations.  He was deported for 7 years. What I would like to find out is did Edward survive? Did he return? Did he stay and if so what happened to him?

Can anyone tell me where I could find this information.

Any help would be appreciated.
Andrea.

Hi Andrea
I found mention of Edward Larkman as primary immigrant in 1753 in

COLDHAM, PETER WILSON. The Complete Book of Emigrants in Bondage, 1614-1775. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1988. pp. 462-920.
Page: 485
Year: 1753
Place: America
Source Publication Code: 1220.12

Details:

Date and port of arrival, or date of sentencing or reprieve for transport and port of arrival. Name of ship, crime convicted of, and other information may also be provided. The first part of this book was indexed as source number 1220.11 in PILI 1999 Part

I see via Google that Mr Coldham has lots of publications.
Perhaps this might be available via interlibrary loan??

Valerie
