Ladies,
You're geniuses!!

Thanks to your efforts, this puzzle is solved. The guy in question was never a Stenson but a Langford, whose father happened to register his name at birth as Langford Stenson.

Thanks to your efforts, this puzzle has been solved.

Many, many thanks
Stenson, anywhere any dates

Henry and Annie (Elizabeth) are my great grandparents. That means I'm related to you Delboy. We never knew why my dad had the name Stenson on his birth certificate. Even Henry's grandson in America didn't know. Thank you for finding this out. And from the stories I was told some of Henry and Annie's children were a nightmare, getting drunk in the King William and then fighting each other!  If there is any other information on the children I'd love to hear it. Likewise I'm happy to share what I know.  :)

Hi. If anyone in this thread is still online I’d be really interested in talking to you. Percy John Langford was my Great Grandfather. According to my research his sibling was not Henry William married to Elizabeth Ann. His Mother was Elizabeth Ann who married William Henry Langford, who was the son of William Henry Langford and Sarah Stenson. I believe this is where Stenson comes in to various records for the next few generations. Its been proving quite confusing to work out who is born Langford and who is born Stenson. Percy John flits between both as to do several of his siblings.
Percy Johns son Cecil William Henry Langford is my Grandfather. I would love to compare notes with anyone around still (I know this thread is quite old) Ive taken my Langford’s back to 1623 to Thomas (if I am correct) Thanks.

Hi FayeSpoors, well done for your research. There are so many of them I get lost who is who!  My father was Denis Langford, born 1923. His father was William Joseph Langford born 1898, he married Ellen Didcott. His parents - my great grand parents were I believe  - Henry (William) born, 1860 and Annie (Elizabeth) born 1860. If I’m correct Henry’s parents were William Langford and Sarah Stenson who were married in 1860. The same year their son was born, I presumed he may have been born before they married which would explain why the name Stenson is on some certificates and Langford on others. I’d would love to see the whole family plotted out. Thanks for posting 😊
