Hannah Culfear b1841 Tilney lookup pls
« on: Tuesday 04 January 05 14:51 GMT (UK) »
Any lookup info for her family in any pre 71 censii in Tilney would be appreciated. I think she married a John Eve in Wisbech in about 1863.
I think my family tree was caught in a gale! Keep finding twigs and branches scattered all over the place :)

I looked in 1851 and 1861 for the Tilneys but could find nothing (in fact I looked on cd rom for 1851 for all Norfolk and nothing came up!) but I found this in the 1841 census for Tilney St. Lawrence:-

Antioch (name of house?street?)  James Culefor  20  Ag. Lab.
                                                     Hannah Culefor  15
                                                     Hannah Culefor  5months

I don't know if this is anything to do with the Hannah you are looking for?

Regards

Thanks again

Hi Teddy, I have wondered about the possibility of Cullifer being a variation. Culfear, although rare, seems to be consistent(if thats the right word?) at least with this small reference I found on the web.
Kent Court of Annual General Session, date: 1694-97
item: The petition of Mathew Culfear of Rhodes Common, a poor and disabled man with a sick wife, living in a non-parochial area, for relief from the county. Note that 18d. a week granted to him. -

Having said that I found this, but cant recall where!(bad researching!!) :-
ELIZ COLFEAR Pedigree
  Birth:
Christening:
Marriage:  12 JUL 1725  Saint George Tombland, Norwich, Norfolk, England
Death:
Burial:

The Culfears I have in my tree already are  2 James's &  a Ruth Elizabeth ,so maybe what you have found is a real possibility. Thanks for your help again Teddy.  :)
