Where is 'Old St.Mary's' and 'Old Pillory's' ?

My GG Grandmother (born c.1821) is listed in census's as being born in 'Old St Mary's, Gloucester. And on another as 'Old Pillory's, Gloucester'

Can anyone give my any insight as to where these places are / were situated ?

I am unable to establish her maiden name, and would really like to find out more about this side of my family.

I am unable to find reference to either of these in Bartholemews Alas and index,  however,  I believe Old St. Mary's refers to the area in Bristol called St Marys.  Ref:

Hi,

The pillory in Gloucester was situated in Southgate Street, and there is also a church, St. Mary De Crypt, one of Gloucester's oldest churches, on Southgate Street, so maybe she is referring to this area of Gloucester?  I've found the following reference to the pillory on the link below:

'The pillory and stocks in Southgate Street were still used occasionally in the early 19th century, but the usual punishment for petty crime was then imprisonment in the new city gaol'.

So by the time your GG Grandmother was born perhaps the pillory was referred to as the 'old pillory' as it was no longer in great use?

I'm not familiar with Gloucester, so this is a bit of a guess from 'googling' on the internet, but I hope it is of some help.

I had been concentrating on looking at 'St. Mary's de Lode, Gloucester' - but I shall now look at the other suggestions, too.

I have now obtained the 1881 census image.

Other years just state 'Gloster', or 'Gloucester'.

But the 1881 has a place name: Old St Mary's or Old Pillary's ?
It is transcribed as both :( on LDS census.

I would like to know where it is, and hopefully find my GG Gmother in 1841 & 1851 census's.
She is in Glamorgan for the 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 & 1901 census's.

I am led to believe her surname was EDWARDS.

Her full name was Hannah EDWARDS. b c1821. I do not know her parents names.
