Dooley and Fitzpatrick
« on: Wednesday 09 January 08 20:14 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I think iam taking a long shot here but I thought I would ask the question and if there is not enough information i will have to go back to the drawing board or family tree one of the two.

Iam looking for a possible Alice Fitzpatrick in Kilkenny married a man from England called George Dooney from Derbyshire he was in the army and it would of been between 1845-1855 they had two children George and Elizabeth in Ireland? On one census  Alice does put down Trelee.

      Hope there is enough information.

Many Thanks
Grant

Trelee could be Tralee but do you have any other clues?
Where do you think the marriage took place- Ireland? Civil registration of Catholic marriages in Ireland began 1864 (from 1845 for Protestant marriages).
Approx. when were the children born? civil registration of births didn't start until 1864 so for earlier dates you need to search for church records (if they still exist).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello

Many thanks for your reply. Iam going to put this on hold for a time something turned up when talking to a work colleague it appears his relative are from Ireland(mother) but they died when he was 3 between 1970 to 1973 since then he knew no relatives.

Iam going to do a new post around Co Cork it shall be on shortly. I think this one is more important.

Thanks
Grant

It's been a while since your last post, so maybe you've found out a lot more information, but did you look at Griffiths Valuation?  There were 3 George Dooley's in Co. Kilkenny in 1850.  Here's the website, if you haven't already checked this out.
