 Babs there is a George Baker born Pontypool June 1854    11a  164. Could this be him? Do you have him aany other census apart from the 2 mentioned?

No I have nothing on my G Grandad apart from those 2 census and also the marriage cert where he says father John ;;
and that cert I have it was a birth in Trostery and when I have checked census he was still there in 1881 with his family so not that one ;;;

Babs you say you have  his birth in Trostery,[which is part of the Pontypool Regisration District] if he was 32 at time of marriage 1885[birth about 1853] The only George  I can find at the moment is the one I`ve mentiond.Did you get Trostery from  wedding cert?

No from the birth cert I sent for which  fitted father William mother Maria, but when I went to the census and followed this family there George was still in Trostrey in 1881 when My George was living up here , so definitely the wrong one /birth cert
