bit of a puzzle - please help
« on: Tuesday 04 January 05 22:24 GMT (UK) »
hi

a bit of a puzzle, can anyone help?

in march 1870 in leighton buzzard, Emmanuel Jelley married Eliza Warren, in june 1870 she died and he is listed in the 1871 census as a widow. He is living with his parents and a grandughter which i think is his child as she is with him in the 1881 as his daughter but in the 1881 census he is married to an eliza with 2 other children.

I cant find another marriage for emmanuel even though ive searched 1837.com

has anyone any ideas? surely he cant have married another eliza as leighton buzzard wasnt that big in those days!

thanks for looking

Hi

There is this from FreeBMD which though it doesn't definitely give a 'match for Emmanuel Jelly and Eliza Pratt, it is worth double-checking on 1837online if you haven't already ...

Regards
Jonathan

Hi, another suggestion would be to order the children's birth certificates.

They would give you the mother's maiden names.

Cheers
