Livingston(e)/Muir/Jap, more info
« on: Thursday 17 January 08 04:56 GMT (UK) »
Hello All,

I left you yesterday informing you that James Livingston(e) had married Christian (Christina) Muir on 13th July, 1759 at Dalgety in Fife and they had Archibald Livingston(e) in October 1760 and Robert. My finger slipped on the keyboard and I gave a wrong birthdate. It should have been about 1762. I'm sorry for tht, and hope that it didn't inconvenience you in any way.

Today, I want to give a few more details about Christian (Christina) MUIR' s
marrige into the JAP family (the surname is often reorded as JAPP).

Let me take you back in time to 27th July, 1728 when Walter JAP (or JAPP) married into another well-known family that I have written about elsewhere, the BEVERIDGE's. He married Catherine BEVERIDGE who had been born in Falkland to William Beveridge and his wife, Margaret. They had several children, among them:

Walter JAP, born 1st March, 1730 at Coaltoune, Dalgety. He died on 16th February, 1736.

John JAP, born 13th October, 1734.

James JAP, born 17th November, 1735 at Coaltoune, Dalgety. He married Christian (Christina) MUIR  on 24th January, 1766 at Dalgety. Their children were Katherine Jap who was born on 25th January, 1767 and christened on 1st February, 1767. Walter Jap, born 23rd July, 1768 and christened on the 28th July, 1768, and Eupan Jap born and christened in February 1770.

Walter Jap, who had been born in July, 1768 married an Elspet (or Elspeth) Wilson who had also been born around 1768 at Dalgety.

I may have more to tell about the JAP (JAPP) family if anybody out there wishes to give a more detailed account.

Kind Regards,

Tom.
