Parish Records Lookup Please

Does anyone have access to the Parish Records of Berwick?I am looking for James Holmes or Holm born about 1790 - 1803 in Berwick. He is shown as a hat manufacturer at Hyde Hill in the 1827 History Directory Gazateer of Durham & Northumberland.He had a daughter Margaret born about 1820 also in Berwick.
I would be very happy to receive any information about the family. Thank you.

Hi Graham,

I could not find James on the BVRI but wondered if you had looked at the the IGI. There is a James Hume born in 1789 in Berwick that is displayed when Holmes is entered, and also a Margaret in 1815. I have had spelling errors on the site.....just a thought

Thanks for that idea, Frances. We have gone back to check on I.G.I.,but we do not think our Holmes is the Hume mentioned.
We have on Margaret's 1849 marriage certificate that she is 28 & that ties in with the 1881 census where she is 61. Therefore we assume she was born in 1821 or thereabouts. We will keep hunting.

Down right hand of page see "Hatmakers"... no Holmes..

But in the Trade above.. Hairdressers... See a
"John Home" of Hyde Hill.
