Shakespeare Hotel, Dundalk
« on: Saturday 19 January 08 01:12 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me if the Shakespeare Hotel still exists at 97 Park Street in Dundalk, and if it doesn't what is in its place?

Many thanks.

Hello Ruby,

I know that the Imperial Hotel is in Park Street but I don't know if it's No. 97

Hi Christopher

Many thanks, once again, for picking up my old thread. Funny enough I was only thinking about this the other day and I thought I might write to the local council to see if they know. Should have thought of that in the first place!

Regards

Ruby

Hi
The Shakespeare still exists but has been re named. It has been re modelled considerably and is now a pub. However the exterior is pretty much original red brick. It is in Park street almost opposite the imperial hotel. I will be down that direction soon and can give you the new name. I seem to recall a man named Cecil Black owned it in the 60's
