Am trying to trace births of families born in India to military personnel 1830 - 1900, could any one tell me where to look!!

I found a lot of useful stuff when I Googled East India Company and British Army in India  :) I was lucky because a couple turned out to be very prominent people and I was able to get huge amounts of information just by googling their names, also try just surname  8)  National Archives are another good source.
