COOPER family; Little Faringdon / Lechlade / Little London

Hi,
I'm researching the Cooper family from Lechlade / Little Faringdon / Little London.Am so far back to 1806, but have quite a few gaps / queries!

I'm struggling to find info for people in Little Faringdon 1880's - 1910's on the net. I read something about being a 'closed' village or something - would that be why [I have no idea; am new to all this!]

Would love to hear from anybody who has any information or who has similar interests.

Quite a few born Faringdon moved away also born Faringdon and in Lechlade. The census calls it lechlade berkshire and the people on the census call it lechlade Gloucestershire.

Out of interest, how did you find them?!

I've been using Ancestry and Find my past, but haven't really got to grips with much else yet. Had a couple of birth / marriage certificates through the post this morning though which was fascinating.

I just put in the birth place Little faringdon and Oxfordshire on Ancestry.

you will find that some born in Faringdon have moved away
and some from faringdon are living in Lachlade Berkshire the registration district for lachlade Berkshire is faringdon. As  I have said the people on the census say they are born in Lachlade gloucestershire.

I think I must be doing something wrong!!
That's fantastic.
Would I be right in thinking that the prescence of George Hillyard on the same page might mean anything (I know there was a niece Dorie Hillyard listed as living with the Coopers in one census) or not? or if I looked up George Hillyard I suppose that could throw up the link? I suppose Dorie would be short for Dorothy or Dorcas?

Where would you go from here re:Henry James Cooper then - would the next step be ordering the certificates from the reference numbers... or something else?

I appreciate your help so much; there's so much to learn when you first start out!
