Yes, another one. But I promiss last one today!

looking for Thomas Adsby Brown censuses 1881 and 1891.
Born about 1873/1874 in Rochester, Kent.
Married to Kate Eleanor Wilson 4th quarter 1900 District Strood Kent.

Unfortunately don't know who his parents were.

Also would like to know in which place they were married.

Hi,

Can't see any suitable candidates without knowing at least father's name, think you're going to need that marriage cert!  Couldn't see any Thomas born Rochester - maybe that's a mistake on 1901 census as Rochester is ditto'd under household above.    Do you know what his occupation was later in life?  I know he was a gardener 1901, there's a Thomas b. Chatham who was a groom in 1891 but no gardeners, sorry

I too have looked to no avail only coming to same conclusion as Barbara- you need the certificate.
I couldn't find anyone with a first name Adsby and only one person in 1851 with it as a surname - she was in Birmingham.

Checked the Kent Registration service for the marriage, it was at Gravesend
You can order through them, will probably be quicker than through ONS
They don't have births for that period though and can't find him in 1873/4

(I got to Kent Reg.Services from www.ukbmd.org.uk then county)

The ref Gravesend C20 http://extranet3.kent.gov.uk/sp/rois/marriagesearch.cfm refers (I think) to marriages at Higham St Mary.

Barbara and I have been conferring (a bit)

In 1881 there's a Thomas Adsley in Kent (father Amos)
 RG11/ 884 F91 P20
In 1891 he's still there (I'm told)
In 1901 he's disappeared, (Amos still around) but Thomas Adsby Brown has appeared.

Bearing in mind that the "le" could be mistaken for a "b" in Adsley/Adsby;
Are they connected?

Maybe Thomas is mentioned in an very old birthdaybook I have. haven't looked at all pages yet. Some are hardly readable.

Hello again,

This time I'm looking for Thomas Adsby Brown.
Born about 1874 in Rochester Kent (acc. to census 1901).
His occupation in 1901 was Gardener Domestic. he lived at The Stables, Shorne Kent.
He married Kate Eleanor Wilson, Dec. 1900, Strood Kent, 2a-1122.

Would like to know where he was censuses 1881 and 1891, and who his parents were.

Once found I also would like to know ofcourse where his parents were during the censuses before 1881!
