Hi folks
quoted above is what we (my brother myself and another relative) have just sorted out. we had a variety of fathers for Sarah Timmins/gittins/steward, but now know they were William (from her marriage certificate to Edwin Steward) and sarah.
The help I would like is to try and find what her mother's maiden name was so I can trace that back. I am a direct descendant of her first husband John Gittins
thanks

I don't know whether this helps, but I see Sarah was born in Wombourn, and according to the IGI the following children of a William and Sarah Timmins were Christened in Wombourn.

Elizabeth ch. 3 Apr 1814
John ch. 9 Aug 1812
Thomas ch. 25 Oct 1818
Sarah ch. 30 Jul 1820

Just spotted on the 1861 census - as well as Mary Ann Gittins, who is living with William and Sarah, there is also William's brother in law Joseph Powney age 60 lab. b. Wombourn (Can be found on the 1851 census married to Hannah.) So Powney should be the surname of Sarah.
