Mary Lilly Patrick this time
« on: Saturday 26 January 08 05:14 GMT (UK) »
Sorry this is another one that's got me stumped  :-[

Mary Lilly (Lillie) Newton b1860 Newcastle
married Douglas Patrick 1882 Newcastle

She was widowed quite young, living with her father Abraham in 1891 and I believe this is her in 1901 with several boarders.
85 Benton Way in Wallsend
Mary Lilly Patrick  abt 1865  Newcastle Upon Tyne Head, widow

I can't find either a remarriage or a death for her.
Can anyone help please?

many thanks Sylvia

Hi

Have you only looked at the partially transcribed index on freebmd?

As she may have married anytime from 1901 (if she did actually re-marry), transcriptions for those years are thinner on the ground – as are deaths.
You need to search the full GRO index  which is available at your nearest main library if you live in the UK.  It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry subscription or at www.findmypast.com which is a paysite

Thanks Carol  :)
Looks like it's the good old-fashioned plod through the quarters on ancestry.
Such a pity there's not a name searchable thing like scotlandspeople.
