1881 look up a second pair of eyes please

Hi, I have my GGrandfather William (Briggs?) Chayters on 1901 census, in 1891 his name was spelt, Chator, his son, my grandfather was Chaters. I have his mother spelt Mary Chaytor with some of her family in 1881, but I cant find William in the1881 census. the family were Chaytor in 1871.
Can anyone find William in 1881 census, his birthplace was altered each census so he may have been born in any of the following: Maryport, Cumberland. Durham Gateshead. Sunderland, Durham.

Was he married to Sarah before or after the 1881 census?

Hi again, William and Sarah maried 23 April 1881. The address on the Census looks like Hamilton Row Brancepeth Durham.
I must tell you that the spellings were way out on the marriage cert.
William Briggs Chaytors age 25, father william both coal miners.
Sarah Jane Dadente (should be Dainty) age 23 father James also a miner.
