WARDLE Uttoxeter Staffs

Hello,
I'm looking for the date of birth and date of marriage of George Wardle.I have him on all the census from 1841 through to 1891, but just cannot go further back. He was married by the 1851 to Jane Wright but there is no trace of a marriage. I'm hoping someone out there may be able to throw some light on things. He always gives his place of birth as Uttoxeter
