Place Info (FTM)
« on: Tuesday 05 February 08 12:18 GMT (UK) »
Is there a way in FTM to store information that is specific to a place and not an individual person?

My g.g.grandfather moved to this area because, I believe, of the newly opened Lime Works.
A number of my family worked there over time and I'd like to store a bit of info about it.
Obviously, storing it against each individual is a bit repetitive and pointless.

Thanks for any suggestions

Not really.  FTM like all geneaology programs is just a database which is divided into 2 major tables INDIVIDUALS and GROUPS (or families).  You can create a book that contains a chapter on the history of the place where your ancestors lived.

If you create your own website then you can design it the way you want it to look and therefore have a page dedicated to the geographical place you want to write about.
