Twiname and Peel Lookups please :)
« on: Saturday 09 February 08 19:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi guys, was wondering if you could help me track down some rellies :)

Im looking for Grace Twiname, born around 1819 in Kirkudbright in Scotland, but would be living in Caldbeck I think, in 1851. She may be living with a man called William Peel, or may be a domestic servant.

There may be children, James Peel born 1850 (adopted by William Peel, he was born James Twiname in 1850), and a Jane Peel, born around 1853. Would be grateful if somebody could find this family for me in census, 1841-1871??

Regards
Matt :)

    Hi YP....

I think it looks like Wollar    but could it be Waller   = specialist in walls
                                                                                   = or salt maker.

Hi guys, thanks for the info, is there any chance of finding out the father of James Twiname. I know Grace was the mother, no father on the birth certificate (1850). A stab in the dark but would there be any recored of where Grace worked? If there were any such records kept?

If Grace had him baptised there may be a record in the parish records.
Some entries I have seen record the birth as ...base born son of ...illegitimate son of ..... or ...if really lucky ....a name of the supposed father.

As it stands nothing that can be found from the census.
