Fanny Elizabeth Hatch was born Ventnor, Isle of Wight in 1854. In 1876 she, unmarried, gave birth to a son, the father being William Charles Littleton. Does anyone know what happened to Fanny after that?

BMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
Marriage Sept. Q 1883
a Fanny Elizabeth Hatch
Southampton  vol. 2c  p. 73
on page: William Emanuel HOLLINS  & Robert John STANSBRIDGE

If someone can check the 1891, etc. for you, I believe this one is with Robert J.
Stansbridge in Hampshire...the age is correct but am just using free look so don't know where she is from...

A quick look at the 1901, shows not from Isle of Wight, tho? Although census info not always factual...
There is also a Fanny Hatcher age 47 born Isle Of Wight in  Sussex /  Lindfield
Fanny  Hatcher 47 Isle Of Wight Sussex Lindfield ...Nope, Pam's looked and this is a married name...

This wasn't marked as an extracted file so a submission on the IGI

Fanny Elizabeth Hatch -  Christened -April 1, 1855 St Mary'S, Southampton, Hampshire, England...so we may just have another of same name for marriage above that hasn't been listed on the BMD yet...

This is a curiosity.    If we believe the census, her parents were James and Mary Ann.  The mother's maiden name is shown as Partridge.  But no sign of a Hatch - Partridge marriage about 1847/8 or so.  I can see the family in 1851,1871, 1881 but not in 1861.  No sign of Fanny in 1881 yet.  :-\

Hi Nell,
Yes, it is a curiosity. I have found what you have discovered. I've had a suggestion that Fanny married a William Emanuel Hollins. I've also heard from a chap who is the grandson of Fanny's neice. Unfortunately he doesn't know the married name of Fanny. he has two possibilities one of which is a fellow with the surname Wight.

I've sent off for fanny's birth certificate which should, I hope, shed some light.

Thanks for interest Nell.
regards,
Don
