Birth Record Donegal
« on: Sunday 10 February 08 16:19 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I have found a birth entry for 1880 in the lds site .

Record shows Rock, Donegal, if anyone could please help where this location could be.  (We have found other family member records in Ballyshannon)

Thank you.

Is it an extracted or submitted entry? Many times I have found submitted records giving strange places of birth, etc.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I agree with aghadowey, submitted entries can be a bit inventive, that said, there are 2 areas within Ballyshannon called East and West Rock. Does that help or hinder? :-\

I thank both of you for your replies.  The record gives a batch number C007086.  You may have given me a new area to search.

Thanks again, very much appreciated.

Hi

The entry does not indicate that it was submitted by a lds member,  it is only showing a batch number.

Agnes King Born 1880 Rock, Donegal Batch # C007086

There is a place known as the "Rock" outside Mountcharles or Drimminary  Co.Donegal . My Mum was from Drimminary and the Rock was right beside her house when you where up at the "Rock" you could see the chimney of my grandparent house. like lots of place in OLD Ireland it wasn't a big area just a few small farms.. Mum had a cousin who lived in the Rock .. Who are you trying to find ??

History about houses on East Rock Ballyshannon
« Reply #8 on: Monday 27 June 22 01:22 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone! I’ve just purchased my first home, 14 east rock Ballyshannon in Donegal. It’s a stretch and I’ve tried but I would love to see some pictures of the house in the old days when it was build or any old pictures of the house. You’d be making a nurse very happy!
Thanks so much!
