Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards,Caterham Barracks
« on: Monday 11 February 08 13:59 GMT (UK) »
The 1891 Census shows that one of my family was a Soldier Based at Caterham Barracks Godstone Surrey. He was twenty years old at the time.
This depot was the entrance for recruits in the Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards.
Can anyone help me to find  the "Organization" which would hold records of recruits entering this Regiment around 1885 / 1891.

Hi Annie
Thanks for the response. The Soldier is CHARLEY [CHAS] GRANT, he was born in1871 at Pinhoe Exeter Devon. He was the first son of John Grant and Mary Bradford. His home address at the time would have been at Huxham,Nr. Exeter Devon.
He appears on the 1891 Census as a Soldier at Caterham Barracks Godstone Surrey.
