Moll/Gill family of Dover
« on: Thursday 14 February 08 02:03 GMT (UK) »
My wife is from Balfour Rd, Dover.

While searching for information of her ancestors in the dover area, I came across the marriage of Edith Clara Moll (apparently an aunt) to Frank Thomas Gill in Dover 25/12/1919.
There is an entry in BMD for the birth of Edith I Gill in 1920, possibly an unknown cousin.
However a Frank T Gill married a Dorothy Hodgkin in 1923 and later had a daughter in 1924.

We are curious to know the fate of both Edith Clara and Edith I Gill.
Until recently, both were totally unknown to my wife so they may have died at that time.

Pretty new to all of this so any help is much appreciated.

Many thanks for that Casalguidi.
Well that would explain why they were never mentioned I guess, as they had died well over 20 years before she was born and as her father died when she was about 13, she never knew.
My wife's father had 2 sisters, Edith and Irene who remained childless.
So thats pretty much the end of that line then.

Oh well onward and upwards through the ancestors.
Time to revisit Forehill in Ely where it seems G.G.Grandmother Susanna Moll had a victuallers or off-license back around the 1860's- well sounds interesting anyway.

Cheers,
