E E Horne ?
« on: Thursday 14 February 08 08:58 GMT (UK) »
This gentleman is supposed to have been in the Canadian Army during WWI. I am not entirely sure of his initials and am not sure if the uniform is infact a Kanuk one but hopefully those better informed than me may be able to throw some light on it.

Regards

Alanz

edit: he is in fact Ernest Edward Horne, born Great Tew Oxfordshire, died and buried Bienfait, Saskatchewan 1955

Thanks for that, please excuse all the spilling mistakes on my first post but then it is at the end of a very long day, I must now dig out my book of the Canadians in WWI and head of to bed

May I resurect this thread rather than starting another one. I happened to be browsing through Ancestory, of which I am not a member and came across Ernest Edward Horne who I now know him to be, or at least some one of h that name and wondered if this is him on here
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gl=&gst=&rank=0&db=CanSoldierWWI%2c&gsfn=&gsln=horne&sx=&=%2c%2c%2c&gs1co=1%2cAll+Countries&gs1pl=1%2c+&year=&yearend=&sbo=1&sbor=&srchb=r&prox=1&ti=5538&ti.si=0&gss=angs-c&hc=50&fh=50&fsk=CIAABD4AA9YP&pgoff=1

I would appreciate a lookup if possible
