Marriage - Joseph Ibbotson

Would anyone be able to find the marriage of Joseph Ibbotson (born about 1849 Bradfield, Yorkshire) and Sarah Unknown (born about 1854 also in Bradfield, Yorshire)

Their first child Dora (that I know about) was born about 1875, so I would guess they married around this time and in Bradfield.

Any help would be great.

If it hasn't been transcribed on any of those websites you will need to search the full GRO index  which is available at your nearest main library if you live in the UK.  It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry subscription or at www.findmypast.com which is a paysite

However - there are a lot of Joseph Ibbotson marriages and as you don't have Sarah's maiden name it could be a problem determining the right entry.

You may find it easier to check for Dora's birth on freebmd and get a copy of her birth cert which will give Sarah's maiden name

The 1881 has a lodger Herbert Hall living with them

The 1871 has a Herbert Hall with a 16 year old sister Sarah and a 5month old sister Polly

The 1881 has Sarah aged 26 and she has a daughter called Polly

There is an Ibbotson family living 2 doors away but not including a Joseph

The birthplaces for Sarah & Herbert are shown as Ugfield but they were living in Bradfield

You may want to consider having a look on the websites above for a marriage between Joseph and a Sarah Hall (he is Joe on the 1881)

I've looked on FreeBMD and while I can't find any in the Bradfield District, there's one in 1st quarter of 1873 for a Joseph Ibboson and there is a Sarah Hall on the same page. (9c 414)
The maiden name Hall ties in with the Sarah and Herbert that Carol mentions, so I reckon it's probably the one.

It does look as if Hall is very likely doesn't it. Thank you for taking the time to help me, I'm very grateful.
