Carter Mountain location
« on: Saturday 16 February 08 08:11 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Could someone help out with the exact location of Carter Mountain? I'm told it was the scene of the Reidswire Raid, possibly near Jedburgh?
Cheers,
Bob

It seems to be what is now known as Carter Bar, where the A68 road crosses the Scotland - England border, about 10 miles south of Jedburgh. The site of Redeswire Fray (presumably another name for the raid you refer to) is shown on the map and dated 1575.
