That seems so obvious Susan.  ;D ;D Of course, none of the rest of us thought that.

I'm in a productive mood this evening!  I've been back on the Randon Acts of Genealogical Kindness Site (wonderful people  :D) and have emailed a request for an obituary lookup in the SF Chronicle for Michael Edmund Knapp (probable son of Phyllis and Charles) for 7 Jan 1999.

Also have requested a lookup of Colorado marriages for 1900 - 1912 for Kate Codori/Crosta and somebody Williams.

Not getting anywhere with the search for Juanita/Robert/Kate in 1910...

Jaylay,

When it comes to obits, don't forget public libraries in the cities. They are very helpful and often for one obit, won't charge and can email it to you. It can also be quicker than RAOGK oftentimes. I emailed a paper two days ago for my grandfather's obit, and the historian sent me his, 2 for his mother and 2 articles on the house my dad lived in when his father died. (I'm riding a genealogical high right now.  ;D

Fantastic Kath - what a nice librarian! Love it when that happens. That's another email I've just sent - to the San Francisco Public Library, looking for Michael Edmund Knapp's obit.  We'll see what comes of it - fingers in all pies now! ;D

I sent a message to the library letting them know what a treasure they have in him.

Good luck. And please keep us posted. I feel like it is my family at this point.  :)

I came across this recently when looking for an ancestory who died in San Francisco.  http://sfpl.lib.ca.us/librarylocations/main/obits.htm  It says they won't accept e-mail requests, but you can get one for free with a self-addressed stamped envelope.

I'm really hoping I'm not embarrassing myself and this is old news    :-[

1930: Denver, Denver, Colorado    Park Avenue

Charles Crosta  Widow  Age: 69  Birth Year: abt 1861  Birthplace: Pennsylvania  F:  Germany M: PA   Occupation:  Sheet Metal Merchant
Dau Rhoda Crosta 29  Married @ age 21 b. Iowa  Both Parents: Iowa  Occupation:  Cashier @ Building Loan
Son Robert C Crosta 27   Married @ age 20    b. Colorado  F:   PA    M:  Missouri   Occupation:  Automobile Salesman

And from Annie's Colorado site above

Robert C Crosta  divorce from Estelle G. Crosta  1922 Arapaho Co., Record # 3593

Tin Smith >>> Tinners>>>Sheet Metal Salesman    That works!
Why would Rhoda have her father b. in Iowa??
Would appear Robert and Rhoda have a different mothers ???
Enumerator errors??

Did Robert's  1922 divorce not "take"  as he is still married in 1930  or married to someone else???

lissa    :-\
