Andrea,

Again, take a look at the Glenister website. This time you need tree number 470.  www.glenister.org

There are lots of Glenister families around the Chesham area, sometimes they link but a l ot of the time they don't. It adds to the excitement.

Andrea,

Barry and Glynis appear on tree no 1325 John and Mary smith.
Barry's parents being Percy and Phyliss, and percy's parents were percival and Elizabeth Rodwell.
If the link is on Glyniss side I cannot help you.

i am still a bit confused

i have looked at the glenister site

and the only child for henry and dinah
 is James and Hannah Rackley

only an approx birth date 1797

what about james  christened 1796  - 1877 in flauden Herts
  Parents henry and MARY Spers
With a Wife called Hannah

both these are on different tree lines

i can only find 1 james on 1841 ,1851

ANYONE ANY THOUGHTS

Andrea,

Yes, the only child we have ever found for henry and Dinah is James. Many of us [Glenister family]   who live in Bucks and especially Chesham have looked for other children for Henry and Dinah and a baptism for James without luck. It is definatly not the one at Flaunden. I have also checked Berkhamsted and Northchurch PR's without success.
I personally belive the family came from the Berko/Northchurch area as it was only a walk across the fields to Ashley Green where we pick them up on the 1841 census
There are a few variations on the name Glenister which is possibly why you only found one James Glenister. By the way James can be found on the 61 and 71 at St leonards with various members  of his family.

Andrea,

We have given it a lot of thought and gone through all sorts of possibilities but when we found Henry's will it names James as his son. Other clues also rule out other families.
good thought though
