Finding families in 1841 census
« on: Thursday 21 February 08 01:00 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am stuck on the ancestry of several of my lines and hope someone can help.
I cannot seem to find any likely ancestors for these individuals on FreeCen for the 1841 census:

-John McEwan
son of John McEwan
married Robina Wright 22 May 1846 Dysart, Fife, Scotland

-Robina Wright
dau. of David Wright
married John McEwan 22 May 1846 Dysart, Fife, Scotland

-Helen McLeod
married Andrew Hunter 3 Jan 1859
born Abbotshall, Fife according to censuses

I would be grateful any help anyone might offer,

Thanks and regards

The second 1841 Wright census you posted and the 1851 census seem to be the correct family (Robina's second son is called David Wright). The mother seems most likely to be Christian Cunningham.

Do you think the Christina McEwan aged 3 in 1851 census is the same person as my ancestor Christian McEwan? (it is definately the right family)
I had estimated her birth year at 1851. It could just be due to record inaccuracies, or could they be sisters?

Thank you down-under.
