Whatever happened to the children of Martha and James Dickson?. Martha married James in 1842 in Mouswald, they had the following children, James born in 1845, Robert born in 1847 and Mary born in 1849. Sadly Martha died in 1850 when she was only 30. Following on James dies in New York in 1855. Did he emmigrate with the children to America?, did he leave them with family at home?. Whatever happened to the children, does anyone know?. regards stoop.

Excellent Pam I did not expect a response to my enquiry, certainly not so quickly, I think that you have solved the mystery, rather relieved that the children were safe and looked after by family. Mary Kerr nee Slater was my g.g.g. grandmother who farmed Doweel aided by her daughter and son in law David Kerr not only did she care for her grandson George but took in her late daughters children.Thank you for your help Pam regards stoop.
