KENNEDY Enniskillen
« on: Thursday 28 February 08 18:56 GMT (UK) »
I am a bit of a dummy as far as Irish genealogy goes so I would appreciate any suggestions or help tracing this family.

Edward KENNEDY born abt.1847 Enniskillin
Margaret Jane KENNEDY born abt.1856 Enniskillin

They had 1 daughter Annastasia born abt.1874 Enniskillin
They had 7 other children born between 1877 & 1897 in Accrington, Lancashire

Edwards mother Catherine appears on the 1881 UK census age 63 so born abt.1818

I have 2 submitted IGI records which have proved to be fairly accurate when I have checked other submissions from the same batch/submitter.

Edward Kennedy
Death: 29 JAN 1908
Father: John Kennedy
Mother: Mrs Catherine Kennedy
Spouse: Margaret Jane Leadly
Marriage: 07 OCT 1873 Irvingstown, Fermanagh, Ireland

Anastatia Kennedy
Birth: 04 SEP 1874 Fermanagh, Ireland
Father: Edward Kennedy
Mother: Margaret Jane Leadly

Edwards death checks out on UK BMD

Thanks in advance for any help
Dave

Am a bit confused by your post. Is Edward's wife Margaret Jane or Mary Jane? Have you tried checking LDS catalogue to see if the actual church records have been microfilmed (might give you exact place (townland) of Anastasia's birth, etc.).

Great stuff Otto,

Nice to see some correct submitted records for a change.

From dates it could be that William was a brother of John.

Thank you and regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

Just found your entry on RootsChat about Edward Kennedy and Annastasia.  I am the Great Grandson of Annastasia.
She married Andrew Wilson, a clerk, in Accrington, Lancs on 23 June 1900. They had a girl, May Wilson on 30th April 1901 in Accrington.
May later married Gerald Marson Owen in Burnage Manchester in 1924 and she gave birth to my father Brian Wilson Owen in 1926.
Brian married Sheila Mary Hopkinson in 1946 and I was born in December that year.

I understand that Edward had been a gamekeeper in Goblusk on the shores of Loch Erne but later
moved to Accrington where he became a steam sawyer.

Hope this information carries you forward a little. Your post gave me some detail I did not have.
I could fill you in a little more if you are still intertested.

Many thanks

John.

If anyone is still interested in this family I have been researching John Kennedy born enniskillen 1839
Father's name John. I wonder if he could be Edward s brother. He was in India for 20 years and ended up in Dublin.
More info on roots chat /Dublin/Kennedy's of hawthorn terrace.
