Rumor of a Presbyterian Pastor named Guthrie
« on: Friday 29 February 08 02:19 GMT (UK) »
Rumor in my family tree that a man named John Guthrie lived somewhere near Crossmolina in Mayo around or shortly before 1800. He had alot of daughters and later one son. He apparently gave his one daughter to a unknown Catholic family and she eventually married a Jodge. They had a daughter named Mary Judge who married my ggg grandfather Solomon Oboyle around 1845. I am hoping there are records about this John Guthrie or better yet a descendant. Thanks Bob

History of Congregations in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland 1610-1982 doesn't list any John Guthrie. (Only Guthrie listed is a Thomas Guthrie of Edinburgh)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
