I have been researching my family tree for a few years now and am trying to find a local history group in the Stedham and Iping area of Sussex.
Can anyone help please.
Many thanks.

Hi There,
Unless anyone knows od a local group, try Brighton Research centre at Brighton Museum.

Your local library should be able to tell you if there is one in your area.

Hello Superfly and welcome to Rootschat.

I've had a look at the Sussex Family History Group database of Local Hisory Societies. There is nothing listed for Midhurst. There is one for Rogate and one for Petworth, but they both look as if their interests are very localised.

There is one member in the Members Interests section with identical interests to you, (which could be you of course!)

Link to SFHG;  http://www.sfhg.org.uk/index.html

Hi Phil

Thanks for your reply. The other member is indeed me! I wondered if you knew if the Rogate and Petworth history groups had an e-mail address or even a website. I haven't had much luck in finding them.
Many thanks.

Hello Alan,

Are you a current member? If not, let me know.

From the SFHG home page, click on Local History Database, then from Sussex Local History Societies click on Details of Societies. Scroll down the list and click on the one's you want. You have to log-in somewhere along the way.

Would this group also cover Rudgwick as I would also be very interested in joining - I have lots of certificates that have the registration district of Petworth, but where things happened in Rudgwick.  My knowledge of this area is very limited.
