There's no clue as to the Parents names from the names of Joshua and Jane's children.

The only thing is for sigrid to get the marriage cert as it was a 'civil ceremony' according to the North Wales BMD.

Thank you both very much!  Joshua had a son William, for whom I have his marriage certificate, as well as John, Elizabeth, Hannah and Emma, at least that is what I have found.   I wouldn't like to say who Joshua's parents are now >:( but I will order Joshua's marriage certificate and that way, hopefully he will have put his father down and then I can go on from there.

Thanks very much. :D

Hi, to side step a bit, (perhaps I should have started a new topic?) before I order Joshua's marriage cert, I am wondering about his wife Jane Roberts. From my research so far I think her mother is also Jane, I don't know the father's name. The marriage cert will give her father's name, but I was wondering if there is a baptism for Jane jnr, bc1827 Ruabon.

Hi sigrid

there are two Jane Roberts bpt. around then. Luckily for you only one of them has a mother called Jane:

25 Feb 1827 Daughter of William Roberts (blacksmith) and Jane,. Living Morton Above.

I think, if I were you, I'd wait for the cert to confirm this.

Once you've got the cert., do let us know. I've got masses of Ruabon/Rhosymedre/Llangollen/Chirk/ etc/ records and info.

I've got all that I can on my rellies from them, so they're here to benefit others. Else they'll just get mouldy  :D

Hi, I will let you know once I get the cert. Estimated date of despatch 7/3 but if I'm lucky I may get it before, as I have done with others I have ordered. I have a strong heritage  in North Wales, Denbighshire and Flintshire. There are several people I am looking for. I have transcripts for Mold and Holywell, which are no good to me, but once I figure it out, will offer to do lookups. If I can help others as I go along I will, like yourself. Thanks for your help, I will be in touch once I get the cert.
