Rothbury baptism about 1823
« on: Monday 03 March 08 16:59 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Does anyone have access to Rothbury baptisms?

According to census my 3x Gt Grandmother  Mary Scott was born there about 1823.

I would be very grateful if someone could find her baptism please.

Thank you

Well there are two Mary Scott baptisms in Rothbury but neither hit it on the head

Mary Scott baptised 9 Nov 1817 d/o John and Isabel
Mary Scott baptised 1 Nov 1820 d/o Joseph and Ann

Thanks for that Janis  :)

I think the second one looks most likely but will have to do a bit more digging.

Thanks again

Hi Janis

I wonder if your baptisms go as far as 1832.  I have been trying to find out more about Mary to see if either of these baptisms that you previously found for me are the right person but with no great success.  However I have just found (through her husband's obituary and a good bit of digging) that she had a brother James born about 1832 in Rothbury.

If your records go that far and there is a James with the same parents as one of the Mary's that would clinch it.

Hope you don't mind me asking after all this time.   :)

Drat!

Wouldn't that just be the way  :-\  One each and again the dates not quite right - and this time it's the child of John and Isabella that looks more likely

I'll try tracking down some of the other children you have given me and see if I can rule anyone in or out that way.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look for me I really appreciate it.

 :)
