John W. Tumber
« on: Monday 03 March 08 17:19 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for John W. Tumber and family.

In the 1871 Census his wife is Eliza and they live in Lynsted, Kent.

I have found a marriage of 1866 for a John W. Tumber and Eliza Theobald but this doesnt seem to fit in with the children unless of course John was married before and some of the Tumber children are from a previous marriage?

According to the census he was born 1821 Faversham and Eliza born 1825 Ashford.

Their family in the 1871 Census comprises of Annie 1853, Thomas 1856, Mary A 1865, John 1860, David 1861 and Emily Tumber 1868 but also Sarah 1856, William 1859 and Harriet Theobald 1863 all stated as daugher and sons.

I cannot find them on the 1861, 1851 or 1841 Censuses.

Can anyone else find them for me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Hoppity

I'm wondering if William age 12 in 1871 is the same boy as Tom age 2 in 1861:

Birth Tom William Theobalds
Jun 1858 Faversham 2a 528

Makes sense, as when the families came together there is a Thomas bn 1856 from the Tumber side, so perhaps Tom Theobolds ecame known as William.

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all of you trying to sort this query out.

Tati, what do the numbers mean?  Sorry not quite with you on that?

I will have a look at all this information and see if any of it fits.

You really are very kind.

Thank you.

Kind regards
Hoppity  :)
