Hi Sandy,

Thank you so much for the information.

You kindly helped before on my Seaby family (grave photo's), and l have been trying to even the family tree up. Its only now l have started this period and have found the brickwall, There was another Cockerill couple who had a daughter Frances born 1804 Gayton, then yesterday studying  that info realised that on the 1841 census it says Frances Seaby(maiden name Cockerill) born All Saints and l did not pick this up at the time, also this one fits the age better. IGI has nothing thats fits time wise with the Cockerill Family so could not get back further.

By the way did you go to the fair this week end, last year you sent me the program, and we communicated over Steve Irwin.

Hi Jean  :)

Thought it was you. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job I got the photo from St Sep's.

Most of the ground has been cleared as one of the tree's hugh branches came
down last autumn, they have cleared the ground and have taken a lot of graves away.

Will have to take a new photograph and see if I can find out where the graves are now.

The F.H.F. was a small event. Last years was a 30th Anniversary one.

Hi Sandy,

l was so gratefully for the photo, just hope its not my graves they have cleared.

If you have a spare moment could you see if there is anymore info on Cockerill/Seaby of that time period as l say IGI has nothing and have googled looking for further avenues to research. Sorry to be so cheeky in asking.

kind regards

Jean

Hello Jean:
Do you know of Frances' father John's siblings?  I have extensive information about  William Cockerill's descendants of this same era from this area, however I do not know if these family lines are connected or not.  I would be very interested to examine this with you.  Thank you.

Mary

Hello Mary,

Would one of John's sibling be Richard who married Elizabeth Wingrave on 1801 ?

l would be very grateful for any help with the Cotterill family, the Seaby side l have much more so two heads are better than one, looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

Thank you for your quick reply!  I  only know for certain as far as William b. abt. 1760, and would very much like to find his parents, siblings, etc.  He married Martha Talbot Feb. 2, 1789 at Brewood, Staffordshire, England and they had 3 children:  John (1789) William (1791) and a daughter Frances (1792).  I do not know if Frances married or any of her descendants, but I do know of John and William's - a very large family.  A DNA project has also been done on this line.  We know that William came to Staffordshire from another area in England, but haven't been able to definately connect him to another Cockerill family. The DNA project proved that our line is different from the Lancashire ones who went on to develop the big Steel Mill in Belgium.
You mention the Cotterill name - is this known to be connected to your Cockerill line?
I would be happy to work with you in any way that could assist either of us.

Mary
