Samuel Bolton - Preston area

I'm looking for a samuel Bolton (Boulton)  born about 1772/73 in the Preston area.
He married his wife Jane in Preston and moved to Stockport, where he died aged 63 in 1836.
If anyone could help locate Samuel in the Preston area I would be very grateful.

I had a look on the IGI for you and found a Marriage 

Samuel Boulton and Jane Goodear

13 JUN 1805   Saint John, Preston, Lancashire, England.

Not sure if this is yours but hope it helps.

thank you, yes, I do think it is.

I don't suppose anyone could locate a birth for either Samuel or Jane? I have tried but don't seem to be getting anywhere.

I have found a birth for a Jane Goodier born 20th Feb 1778, Preston on IGI

Also found on IGI a Jane Goodear, Christened 20th Feb 1778 at St. Wilfrids, Preston

Parents Gul Goodear & Eliz 

Seems a coincidence that she is christened on the day the above Jane was born 

Also if it is your Jane, strange she is christened RC (St.Wilfs) and married C of E ( St.Johns)

many thanks for this.

It does seem strange that she was baptised at RC.

Wasn't there a time when all marriages had to take place at the local parish church regardless of the denomination of the bride and groom? If so that would perhaps explain things.

I have just checked and St. Wilfrids RC Church didn't open until 1793, so the IGI was wrong
