There is no death of a Robert Underwood in Victoria either that could possibly have been the father of Robert James Charles Underwood.  :-\

If Bridelia died in Queensland and after 1961, there's no way we have of accessing those records. Only someone visiting Queensland records may be able to check microfiche to find that.

Do just keep in mind that people did change their names and sometimes what they had put down was not always completely true. Not saying that this was the case, but it does happen.  :-\

P.S. I'll have a look for Broom.........
Steeles, Burton, Garrod (Norfolk), Clarke, Tomblin (Rutland)
Bauer (London, France), Blades, Parker (Surrey)
Edwards, Coles, Smith, Nunley, Craddock, York, & Linnell (Northants) )
Ehmcke, Deimel, Appelkamp (Germany)
Watts (Somerset, Wiltshire) Selway, Churchill, & Chappell (Somerset)
Redwood (Devon, Essex) Button, Archer, Leach (Cambridgeshire)

You'll never guess what that search leads me straight back to ....the birth of a son Charles Alex to Robert Underdown and Elizabeth Ann Broom in Amherst in 1859!

Definitely no Broom/Underwood children!  :-\

Hello  there

I  must  add  in  her  that  I  agree totally  with  Dee  you  cannot  rely  on  ages  given  as being  fact.  The  birth  that Dee and Raylen  found  is  quite probably  his.

on  the Brisbane grave  finder  I  see A  burial  for Robert Charles Underwood  and  in  the same grave is an ELLEN Underwood, have you seen  this information Omega.

regards JEnn

Sorry  I  meant  to  add
if  you  have  checked the Roma Cemetery Records  to see if Bredelia is  buried  at Roma  with her husband.

regards Jenn

Hi Jenn and Dee
Robert James Charles Underwood and a child Bridelia Underwood are buried at Roma Cemetery and according to the Roma Historical Society they are the only two in that grave.
Jenn, Robert William Clarence Underwood was cremated and is at Mt Thomson/Mt Gravatt crematorium and he is my husbands father.  My husband is the Robert Charles Underwood in the family and believe me he is still alive...(altlhough some days...pmsl).

Dee would I have to go to the State Library to look up Bridelia's death then?

Dee is there no death in Vic for Robert Underdown either or Elizabeth Ann Underdown nee Broom/McBroom?

I was told and had forgotten that Robert Underwood and Elizabeth Broom entered Australia via Tasmania I have just found the email I recieved and this is the record.

In Tassie there were two convicts that were sent out from the U.K ( 1830s ) ...below.

72107 Underwood Robert    Arr: 01 Aug 1835 Ship: Mangles  Dept:21 Apr 1835 London

7673  Broom Elizabeth  Arr:  03 Dec 1836  Ship: Westmoreland (1) Dept:12 Aug 1836 Woolwich

Not sure if this helps or not but thought I better let you know I had this.  I am in such a mess with this family that my paperwork is a mess also, sorry.

Hi All,
http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?search=5

Elizabeth Broom applied to marry 2 different men  [neither of whom Robert Underwood] before 1841.

Robert Underwood,[ free] applied to marry Ellen Ryan in 1853.

At Whitehills Cemetery [district of Bendigo] Sarah Underdown. Buried 1861.

Sue
