As you say, this twig of my tree is quite an illustrious one! The Godolphin family that Judith Ameredith married into also boasts some famous ancestors right back to William the Conqueror. 

This branch of my tree is through my paternal grandmother and my father, who died early on during my family history research - before I was able to tell him that his grandmother hailed not from Ireland as he had assumed, but from Devon & Cornwall would have been quite amused I think!
