ann gretton born c1805 ?Highworth
« on: Monday 31 March 08 16:36 BST (UK) »
I am seeking the wife of Joseph Maiden. The only Joseph Maiden/Ann marriage I can find around 1827 is at St Philips Birmingham on 25/7/1827. The census for 1851 and1861 give her a birth year of 1805 at Highworth Wilts.I cannot find an Ann Gretton born there so either I have the wrong marriage or Ann was born at a  parish very local to Highworth whose records are not on the IGI. Any help welcome with finding her baptism or  suggesting another Joseph Maiden/Ann marriage!

The 1851 census shows 3 children born between 1843-1849.  A copy of any one of their birth certs will give you her maiden name

Thanks for that suggestion. I could indeed purchase the birth certs for either Violetta (1843) or Alfred Joseph (Sept 1837) on line for £7 but to keep costs down I was hoping that someone just might recognise the surnames or marriage from their own research. I know this is a long shot but if no joy within the next few days, I will contact GRO.
