I don't know if I am allowed to post a link so I will just post the data. Sorry if I have done it wrong.

1861: Class: RG9; Piece: 991; Folio: 112; Page: 34
I am trying to find out if the man Joseph Thompson was a traveller or not. On a later census he is just a chimney sweep but here he is a sweep AND a lodging house keeper - I don't know what this job suggests.
His son married into my family but I wanted to know if he was a traveller as well.

I have seen many lodging house keepers in my search for my ancestors but I have always assumed that they weren't travellers, my travelling ancestors were always just living in the same house as them.
Or was one of the lodgers in the house appointed a keeper of the house and charged with looking over the place...I am very confused.
Sorry for wittering.
